5 Essentials Sailing Cards

Five Essentials of Sailing Challenge Cards - How good are you at spotting 5 essential problems - and solving them?

These cards are designed to challenge sailors from novice to intermediate to identify the visual and physical clues and remedy problems in order to improve boat set up and ultimately their sailing.

The cards have stars that indicate whether the question is for beginners or more advanced students and the 28 cards contain questions on all of the 5 essentials. Sometimes, troubleshooting the problem is a great way to learn and improve.

HOW TO USE:

• Cut all of the cards into width-ways strips
• Fold each card along the dotted line and glue
• Segment cards into piles of 1,2 and 3 stars.
• Put each segment into a container and let the student pick one out - they could work in pairs and challenge each other
• If they get them right, move on to the next star set
