The Sand to Salt How to Master Man Overboard Drill - Activity: True or False?

One of the most important manoeuvres to master is is Man Overboard Drill - Not just in case your crew falls overboard, but also because it really tests your ability to safely control a boat. The drill tests your ability to determine wind direction, points of sail and speed control. This is why we use it from RYA Level 2 right up to Instructor Pre-Entry, to assess sailing ability - not because crew keep falling out! (Although that is obviously important!)

This True or False activity is a great way to test knowledge in a fun and informal manner.

About the Challenge sheet:

• The MOB drill diagram is at the top of the page to remind students of how to execute the drill
• There are then 10 statements relating to the correct procedure.
• Students are asked to identify which are true statements and which are false
• Be careful - some are tricky and only have slight changes to the correct drill!
