The Sand to Salt Sailboat Turning Forces Activities.

These activity sheets form part of our rudderless series and are a fun way to test the essential theory needed in order to progress towards sailing without a rudder.

Before taking the rudder off, it's essential that you understand how different forces affect how the boat turns - These two activity sheets test knowledge learnt in our posters from the same series (how the sails and boat heel / balance can be used to turn the boat without touching the tiller).

About the Sailboat Turning Forces Activities:

• 2 x Full colour Sailboat Turning Forces Activity Sheets with 2 levels of difficulty
• Sheet 1 contains illustrations and asks the student to fill in the gaps of the descriptions for turning with sails and then balance
• Sheet 2 contains the basic illustrations of the boat and the turning direction and asks the student to draw the sail and bodyweight positions to turn the boat each direction.
