Which Knot?

Which Knot?

Which knot? activity.

This activity tests learners understanding of different knot types and their uses. It encourages more focused thought processes to consciously decide which knot would work best in given situations, based on their knowledge of the pros and cons for each knot.

There are 5 scenarios that apply to common boating knot uses - some may be unfamiliar to younger students and novices, so an instructor may need to guide the activity. Alternatively, it provides a good test / ability assessment for more experienced students.

The answer sheet shows our suggestions for the scenarios, although it's important to remember that sometimes, more than one answer can be acceptable.
